MATERIAL CARE & MAINTENANCE GUIDE

INDOOR MATERIAL PROTOCOLS

Fabric Upholstery

  • Spills: Immediately blot liquids with a damp, lint-free cloth or sponge using lukewarm water. Do not scrub; air dry naturally.

  • Atmosphere: Shield textiles from direct sunlight to preserve deep pigment integrity. Vacuum crevices and rotate cushions regularly.

  • Uniformity: Clean all components simultaneously to prevent tone variances across the silhouette. Professional extraction is required for severe saturation.

Leather

  • Minor Contact: Blot immediately with a soft white cloth lightly dampened with distilled water. Allow to air dry naturally; never introduce forced thermal heat (dryers, heaters).

  • Lipids & Oils: For grease, butter, or oil, minimize contact by blotting excess with a dry cloth. Do not apply water. The remaining trace will naturally integrate into the leather matrix over time.

  • Preservation: Position pieces away from heating vents and direct sunlight to maintain natural suppleness. Dust with a dry, soft cloth.

Vinyl & Technical Leather

  • Maintenance: Wipe surfaces periodically with a soft, damp cloth.

  • Restoration: Utilize high-grade, non-commercial vinyl formulations to lift surface marks. Avoid abrasive elements.

Architectural Wood & Veneers

  • Climate Control: Protect wood surfaces from extreme thermal shifts and direct sunlight. Drastic humidity fluctuations compromise structural integrity and induce warping.

  • Surface Defense: Always employ coasters, felt pads, or protective mats under heated objects, fluid vessels, and writing instruments. Lift objects vertically; never drag them across the surface.

  • Sanitization: Blot spills immediately. Dust using a dry, lint-free microfiber cloth. Avoid paper towels, wax, silicone polishes, or standard household soaps, which degrade the protective finish.

Steel & Stainless Steel

  • Daily Care: Wipe immediately following fluid contact. Clean with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to prevent mineral spotting.

  • Interdictions: Do not use abrasive pads, chemical solvents, strong detergents, or bleaching agents. For stainless steel, utilize specialized, non-abrasive metal cleaners.

Polished Marble & Natural Stone

  • Porosity Warning: Despite its structural density, natural stone remains porous. Protect surfaces from acidic compounds (wine, coffee, citrus, organic acids) to prevent etching.

  • Spills: Blot immediately; rinse the area with a clean, damp cloth and dry.

  • Precaution: Always utilize coasters and protective runners under hard or heated objects. Never apply chemical cleansers, abrasive scouring agents, or standard furniture sprays. Dust frequently with a dry cloth.

Technical Composites (Glass, Faux Stone, Faux Wood)

  • Clearance: Clean surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Wipe spills immediately to avoid residue adhesion.

  • Glass Elements: Standard glass cleaner may be applied to transparent panes, but must not contact neighboring metal or wood frameworks. Avoid all abrasive compounds.

OUTDOOR ARCHITECTURAL CARE

General Preservation

  • Daily Maintenance: Dust with a soft, dry cloth; lift spills immediately.

  • Environmental Defense: During prolonged inclement weather or off-season periods, ensure the piece is entirely dry, then shield it with a high-performance, ventilated outdoor cover to prevent moisture entrapment.

Polymer Weave

  • Cleansing: Wash regularly to prevent environmental buildup. Wipe down with a damp cloth or warm water. For stubborn debris, utilize warm water paired with a non-abrasive, pH-neutral soap.

Teak & Acacia

  • Natural Evolution: Untreated premium hardwoods will naturally weather over time, developing a distinguished silver-grey patina when exposed to the elements.

  • Restoration: To strip away environmental soot and restore original warmth, scrub lightly in the direction of the wood grain using a soft brush and warm, soapy water. Specialized teak cleaners and oils may be applied to reinstate luster.

Metallic & Mesh Frameworks

  • Sanitization: Wash frames with a mild solution of soap and water; rinse thoroughly and dry.

  • Storage Preparation: Prior to seasonal covering or storage, ensure all accumulated water is entirely drained from within the framework.

Outdoor Performance Cushions

  • Debris Control: Shake or rinse cushions regularly to keep them free of organic matter and soil.

  • Deep Cleansing: Flush thoroughly with a cold-water hose to extract residue. Spot-clean stubborn areas with mild soap. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or introduce chlorine bleach.

  • Drying & Storage: Stand cushions vertically on end to dry completely in the sun before utilizing or storing. Never enclose damp cushions in plastic encapsulation, as this invites mildew.

Engineered Faux Concrete

  • Surface Care: Maintain the non-porous finish by removing surface dirt, dust, or organic rings using a mild soap and water solution. Avoid harsh acids or industrial stripping agents.

Structural Poly-Wood

  • Maintenance: Wash the framework with mild soap and water; rinse completely and dry. For oil-based spots or persistent rings, apply a specialized mild citrus degreaser and wipe clean with a dry cloth.
